Maecenas started as a collaboration with a crypto-based software factory, where the main founder wanted to turn the technology into a product. Together with Bureau, a number of options were analysed, from token exchanges to tokenisation, with the final choice to move forward with fine art tokenisation.

The primary areas of engagement involved structuring and sourcing resources around the core team, completing a founding team, ensuring adequate legal support was available, developing a brand in line with the product, and building relationships with the relevant incumbents to position the platform as a lead in the emerging tokenisation market, avoiding the most saturated areas of the industry.

Deliverables included the ideation, investment material generation, branding, fundraising and subsequent platform build.
